Sugar high

Since I've been feeling the Spring vibes recently, I decided to invest in a new perfume for the occasion. The DKNY Delicious Delights are super cute and smell AMAZING. I wanted to buy them all and couldn't decide but in the end I went for the pink: 'Fruity Rooty'. I love the bottle too, it makes me so happy!

I also treated myself to a Tangle Teezer (finally!) I've always wanted to get one because I think they're super handy for carrying around with you. I loved this limited edition Lulu Guinness one.

I also picked up these MUA sweet sheen lip balms - absolutely amazing! They're a total dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Balm Perfector (which I am obsessed with but is nearly finished, sob!) These are almost exactly the same - smooth and creamy, hydrating with a great colour payoff and only a fraction of the price at £2! Which means I might just have to buy all six colours!

What's your favourite thing about Spring? Mine are: cute fluffy bunnies, bright sunny mornings, blossom trees, Easter eggs and wearing yellow!

See you soon! xx

Vintage craft fairs and quirky beers

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday. Today I had a lovely day visiting the Urban Market at Drygate Brewery. It was so cute!
#

There was live music, bubble tea from Tempo Tea Bar, made-in-Scotland cards, prints, popcorn, cupcakes, chocolates, jewellery, candles and gifts! I had such a good time wandering round the stalls and chatting to folk.

I bought a cute necklace from Made by Suzi - she creates them out of old bits of broken crockery! Genius! Check out her Etsy shop.

The Drygate Brewery has an amazing craft beers shop too - I went a bit mad! I couldn't resist the packaging of the cherry beer and the banana beer intrigued me! (tried it tonight - amazing!) I'll definitely be back here! The guy in the shop was awesome too and he had a cool beard.

Spent the evening chilling with my mum, drinking some cava and eating jalapeno poppers in front of the TV! Happy Mother's Day everyone!

California wow!

Today I visited the Laura Aldridge visual art exhibition, California wow! at the Tramway. It was an exiting display for the senses and most of all, it made me feel very summery!

I found it to be a mixture of fun, weird and a little uncomfortable.. all of which I think good art should be. Definitely recommend! The exhibition runs until 22 March.

Hidden gems: Banana Leaf restaurant

I don't usually go for Indian food when I eat out. Being a nut allergy sufferer, it tends to be a bit of a danger zone for me, so I steer clear. However when my friends suggested going for a meal to what has been described as 'the best Indian in Glasgow' - how could I resist?

Banana Leaf doesn't look like much from the outside. Hidden away on Old Dumbarton Road, in between tenement flats and across the road from a nameless pub and corner stores, you'd walk right past its faded sign without so much as a glance.

The inside isn't much to write home about, either. A tiny space,  with only four tables and waiting room chairs, wood-panelled walls and a rickety sliding door toilet which pushes out more than it slides across!

As for decoration, a solitary, rather sad looking plant sits on the window sill and a painting of a typical South Indian scene hangs on the wall, the only glimpse into the exotic world of cuisine where the Banana Leaf promises to take you.

But the menu tells a different story - the prices are insanely good for what you get and the choices are endless. Dosas, pakora, dahl, chapati, saag, kofta... All 6 of us ordered a starter and a main course each so we could try a bit of everything.

The Banana Leaf also has a BYOB policy, so we stocked up at Tesco before we arrived.

When the food came, I was blown away by how good it was. It isn't often a restaurant impresses me this much! The quality of my Palak Paneer was another level of awesome. So tasty, and there was so much of it!

If you're ever in the West end of Glasgow and looking for somewhere cheap for dinner, you want to try something new (this is not your typical Glasgow Indian) or you're a foodie and you fancy sampling some of the best curry you'll ever eat (that's a promise!) then definitely check out Banana Leaf
